Orangutan puppet and organ designer/maker: Ruby Gibbens

While perched on a street organ, the orangutan delivered a calypso performance to the audience, accompanied by a grizzly bear gracefully dancing with a marionette. Ruby Gibbens created the orangutan's head using flexible latex, enabling operation of the mouth from behind. The feet and hands were also cast with latex. The orangutan's fur was crafted by combing out hessian and sewing the frayed strips onto a Lyrica skin layer. Ruby Gibbens performed the orangutan's song during this particular scene.
