THE IRON MAN | Graeae Theatre Company

Puppet maker: Ruby Gibbens

Director: Nickie Miles-Wildin | Writer: Ted Hughes | Designer: Emily Harwood | Puppet Lighting: Hristo Takov | Production Photos: Pamela Reith

In the production, the character of the Iron Man is a small tabletop puppet. It features a mouth mechanism and is crafted using a combination of sculpted and found objects. Additionally, its chest takes the form of an illuminating book that offers a variety of color options. To enable movement, the Iron Man is equipped with wheels, allowing it to wheel around the stage. When required to remain stationary, it can be securely positioned using a stand attached to it’s side. As for the dragon character, it is constructed using papier-mâché, foam sculpting, and sewn elements. The dragon's mouth is also capable of opening and closing.
